Spongebob and David Bowie

This is so cool. And one of the reasons I watch cartoons. It’s amazing the stars who do cartoons.

David Bowie thrilled to work with SpongeBob

NEW YORK (AP) — Daddy’s little girl turned [tag]David Bowie[/tag] from a [tag]rock star[/tag] into the voice of a [tag]cartoon[/tag].

Bowie will be a guest on [tag]Nickelodeon[/tag]’s “[tag]SpongeBob SquarePants[/tag],” playing a character called [tag]Lord Royal Highness[/tag] in a show that will air next year.

Bowie, 59, said his 6-year-old daughter, Alexandria Zahra, is a huge [tag]SpongeBob[/tag] [tag]fan[/tag] and they watch the show together. He wrote in his blog that he has “hit the [tag]Holy Grail[/tag] of [tag]animation[/tag] gigs.

“We, the family, are thrilled. Nothing else need happen this year, well, this week anyway,” Bowie said.

Vince Welnick Grateful Dead

Grateful Dead keyboardist dead at 51

LOS ANGELES, California (AP) — Vince Welnick, the Grateful Dead’s last keyboard player and a veteran of several other bands, including the Tubes and Missing Man Formation, has died at age 51, the Grateful Dead’s longtime publicist said.

Welnick died Friday, said Dennis McNally, who declined to release the cause. The Sonoma County coroner’s office said Saturday that an autopsy would be performed next week. Welnick lived in the northern California town of Forestville, but McNally said he did not know if he died at home or in a hospital.

“His service to and love for the Grateful Dead were heartfelt and essential. He had a loving soul and a joy in music that we were lucky to share,” the group said in a statement on its Web site. “Our Grateful Dead prayer for the repose of his spirit: May the four winds blow him safely home.”

The Daily Briefing

Donald Rumsfeld is giving the president his daily briefing.

He concludes by saying, “Yesterday, three Brazilian soldiers were killed.”

“OH NO!” the president exclaims. “That’s horrible!”

His staff sits stunned at this display of emotion, nervously watching as the president sits, head in hands.

Finally he looks up and asks, near tears, “How many is a brazilion?”

Have you seen Ju-On?

I started watching Ju-On tonight on Showtime. I didn’t see the beginning, and at first thought it was kind of weird. Downright weird I should say. It was difficult to follow at first because it was in Japanese with English subtitles.

Well.

Once I caught on and got a clue, I discovered I was scared out of my wits. Ju-On was a good movie, and it kept me on the edge of my seat right to the end! It did jump around a bit, so if one is going to watch it, it’s best not to have any distractions, no kids running around screaming, no SO to talk yer ear off…

Ju-On will be on again on Showtime on September 30, at 12:45 am. I plan on watching it from the beginning. With the lights off, of course.

There is an American remake of this movie, set in Japan, called The Grudge, made in 2004. I’ll have to get this one too, although I’ve seen the trailers and wasn’t overwhelmed with a desire to see it at the time.
Now I’ll have to.

This is a personal blog, and it spans over 14 years. You may see some cussing, ranting, a little weirdness and alot of stupidity. Oh, and whining.

Over the years I’ve used it to test things I maybe shouldn’t have messed with (innocent look), and I’ve tried to clean up but may have missed some stuff. You’ve been warned.
