New Firefox Quantum
I’m not sure how I feel about the update to Firefox – Quantum. It’s definitely faster. We’ll have to see throughout the day and watch processes.
Right off the bat: if I look at the processes in the Windows Task Manager, there are several processes for Firefox and this drives me nuts, especially when it comes to forcing a shutdown, which I often have to do with Firefox.
I do like the Restore Session that now seems to be embedded – one less plugin.
Speaking of plugins…most of the ones I use don’t work and don’t have replacements. This is one page of plugins that aren’t updated:
Look and feel:
I’m not fond of the Chrome feel – I don’t use Chrome because I don’t like it.
I pin a lot of tabs and so far haven’t found a way to make pinned tabs smaller. I also like colored tabs and my plugin for this doesn’t work.
I tend to bookmark most of my “important” bookmarks on my Bookmarks Toolbar. I’ve used Roomy Bookmarks Toolbar in the past to widen this – but the plugin doesn’t work with Firefox Quantum. Not having this plugin is going to be a big adjustment for me.
Used the bar along the bottom too – that seems to have disappeared.
I don’t like change…
