Heard on the news that a poll done in orlando asked how many people are considering leaving florida because of the hurricanes; and the answer was like 31%.
Granted; we’ve been slammed; no doubt about it. *And* I heard that while no more canes should be coming off of the Cape Verde islands; the ones that do develop in the Caribbean have a tendency to hit Dade/Broward counties.
Wunderbar.
Ok; I can understand why people would consider wanting to leave; but. And that’s a big but too:
If you’re gonna live here, don’t live on the coast. Yeah; I know it’s beautiful, blah blah blah but you can see what can happen. It’s pure stupidity, as you can now see. Live inland. Drive to the beach!
Ever gotten a gander at California beaches? Now there’s some beauty! How many houses do you see? Precious little.
Don’t live in a mobile home. Enough said there. Live inland.
If you do what the authorities tell you; you’ll make it thru. Now if you live in a wooden structure; don’t count on it. There are some laws that need to be created in our state, and after the last 6 weeks I’m sure there will be, but apartment dwellers in Florida are screwed. And some places (condo or apartment) absolutely do not allow shutters/wood to be put up over windows.
Huh?
If I lived in a place like this; and some so called apartment authority figure told me I couldn’t, well I would anyway…..I mean like hello ……so throw me out.
I could go on but I won’t cause I’m tired and I’m damn tired of hurricanes.
