Caught the 8 year old skipping class today. Also caught the little shit in 4 different lies to 4 different people, including his teacher, one of the lies involving me. Unfortunately for him, I communicate constantly with his teachers – hound them really – and he is up the creek without a paddle. He will be visiting the principals office tomorrow.
8 years old and skipping class! Come on – I didn’t skip until I was in the 2nd half of 11th grade. And still got my ass kicked when the parental units found out.
What punishment? So far I’ve made the kid write apology letters to all he lied to. He will be confined to his room until next week – he insisted on me naming a day and well, I did. TV priveliges have been revoked indefinitely. When they are reinstated, he will get 1 hour per day.
Haven’t decided on baseball yet. While he is signed up they haven’t gone for tryouts and I could get him pulled and get the registration fee back. I spoke to the baseball commissioner who suggested that we let him join, but then explain to his coach what has been happening and let the coach discipline him by making him go to games but sit out some of them.
He’s got until next week for me to make a decision on the baseball thing. In the meantime, he needs to come up with several reasons in writing as to why I should let him play. He will need to convince me. I am not easily convinced. At this point I’m ready to lock him in his room and throw away the key.
